I also have experienced this on my flash drive. I set Money to save the 5
most recent files. Money prompts me each time I close the program, but it
never seems to delete the oldest file. I have about 15 backup files now.

I suggest you look for another flash drive that you unplug and plug
as needed. They are often on sale. Floppies are more prone to
failure. At least rotate sets of floppies.

I followed yor instructions and have mine set to 1 backup in both
places, however I loaded up this morning and it has four(4) files in
money and two on the flash drive so it is not deleting the extras.
Guess I will go back to the floppy backup as I don't like my money
files on my computer and I leave the flas drive pluged in all tha
time.

Save in [a place on your hard drive ]
x Ask me before backing up each time*
x Compress Backup Files
Keep only the _20_most recent backup files [adjust to taste, and
your taste would be something smaller I think]

x Perform scheduled backups every _7_ days
Save in [a USB flash drive location]
x Ask me before backing up each time*
x Compress Backup Files
Keep only the _2_most recent backup files [adjust to taste]

Then periodically, perhaps once per month or more, copy your
latest backup (uniquely named by Money) to a
CDR. With XP, this can be a copy and paste operation. Otherwise
use the burning software that came with your CDR drive.

I strongly suggest use of a USB Flash drive also, in addition to
backing up to your hard drive. They typically act like a big
floppy.

Money will write the new backup successfully before any deleting.

That said, if you have a problem with Money keeping more backups on
the USB flash drive than you want, after making your settings, let
us know. It is something I am watching for.

This version does not delete the last backup on exit.
Is there a fix for this?
It still will not over write the file on a floppy either.
I was told this was preferable but to me NOT.
