I have several utilities that include a popup blocker - I try to only run one of them so who knows - I may even have more than one running at a time, inadvertently. I will look more closely at this. | FWIW, I run with Google popupblocker and haven't seen any bad effects with Money 2004 or 2006. For example, Popupcop was crashing Money 2004 here any time I tried to use certain functions (like the online service logon wizard, or web help). When I manually disabled Popupcop in MSIE, and then closed and restarted Money, the crashes stopped. When I re-enabled Popupcop, Money crashed again. There's no way to disable the program from within Money. Microsoft support explained that Money is like a big web browser, which is not obvious at all from the online or printed documentation or support web pages. |

| That's what I thought I would try. I can understand AV et al cause install issues, but it installed fine. So having those running during an (apparently) successful install can cause hangs after the fact ? | AV and Firewall can affect things. Try uninstalling Money, disconnect from Internet, shutdown AV & Firewall, reinstall Money and reinstall AV & Firewall. -- Regards Bob Peel, Microsoft MVP - Money For UK tips & fixes see http://support.microsoft.com/default...d=fh;EN-GB;mny. | I was running the trial version of Money 2006, and after installing noticed a general system malaise in the form of random program hangs. I have seen other complaints similar to this from other Money users, though I am not sure what version of Money the others were using. The hangs I am referring to are not in any specific area, it covers the gamut, from Control Panel and msconfig, to MS apps in general to other third party apps. After clicking on the program, the app hangs without completing the load, then after trying to switch to other running apps, the whole system grinds to a halt. I uninstalled Money this morning and have experienced no other hangs since then <sigh> . The sigh is because I have already ordered the Small Business version, and am now regretting it. Any suggestions on how to resolve this ? I know "system hang" can be a very difficult symptom to diagnose and cure, but I really want to make this work. Any suggestions where I can go for assistance tracking down what the trouble is ? I have Googled and MS KBd this, with little to go on so far. Any help greatly appreciated. Oh BTW, I am running XP SP2 with all latest patches. Also running Symantec AV and Zone Alarm, if that makes any difference. Scott |
