I don't even see the confirmation offer: in my experience , if the cusips
match or aren't there in Money, the update proceeds. Only if the cusips
differ do I see the confirmation offer.

Removing CUSIPs doesn't seem to matter, as I gather Money keeps that info
somewhere else. For that matter, I have some bonds which have never had a
cusip assigned to them and Money is still somehow able to match and update
them correctly. In any case, I've not been able to find any way to stop the
update process,

Money's OFX certification team is looking at MK also. I'll let you know what
they find out.

If your description of the bond matches the bank's description of the bond
exactly, it will match on name and offer that for your confirmation. It's
simply a matter of clicking 'OK'. It would be aggravating, but you get to
choose which aggravation is smaller.

Default RE: Update: re: Updates are messed up

Thanks for looking into this snafu. I need to be able to update all of my
Morgan Keegan accts for the stocks transactions, dividends, etc. If I remove
the CUSIPs or change them, then the next update will bring up each bond for
me to match with what's in my Money portfolio. I've emailed Customer Support
at MK and they responded saying they are looking into it. I never had any
problems with Money 2005 and earlier versions because bond prices weren't
updated.

Default Update: re: Updates are messed up

Inquiries still in progress, but my suspicion is that it will turn out to be
Morgan Keegan's problem. All Money does is use the data identified as
<unitprice> in the OFX file; it has no control over where that data
originally came from. The categories you mention seem to be unique to Morgan
Keegan (my FI doesn't use them). I'll let you know what I find out.

This is a new capability in Money 2006 (and one I'm delighted to see, though
I realize your reaction is different). I can't think of any way to prevent
this from happening (other than not updating, of course).

Those FIs that provide bond prices identify bonds by their CUSIP. Money
provides an entry form for that info when the security is identified as a
bond.

I assume there are bond identifiers like stock symbols? Without them, Money
can't update the prices, can it?
