Rather than go further in that direction (which could have led to inconsistencies), I called up Bank One again with this more specific information, namely: Bank One's Direct Services server still has my account registered with an old username and password. It needs to be updated with my current username and password as understood by Bank One's Web site. Rather than do this, though, the Bank One rep asked me simply to change the username and password *again*. I was leery, because that was what goofed everything up yesterday! But today, my username change did propagate successfully all the way to Bank One's Direct Services server. All is now well, as far as I can see. But what a nightmare! |

Most likely, their server for Direct Services has not been properly updated with my new userID and password. I will wait a couple of days, and then perhaps change my userID and password again, at a time when traffic should be light. Hopefully, that change will propagate correctly throughout their servers. |

| Over the weekend, BankOne changed people's userIDs. I can now get onto my BankOne via their Web site, with the new userID; but in Money 2004 Deluxe, even after changing my userID (in the Online Setup for BankOne), Money fails to log in. BankOne is of absolutely no help, because on their side, they do not even see Money attempting a login to my new userID. What else could be the problem? |
