| Steve I am a using Money 2006 with Bank of America. The automated direct connection to the bank is not free unless you have an advantage account. You however can manually download from the web site and use the web site free bill pay with any account. Art Steve wrote: - quote - > Chris, > Thanks for your input too. | Chris, Thanks for your input too. Would you know if Money 2006 is supported by Bank of America-Connecticut? We have just been merged into BOA's system this week. I have free bill pay with them. I will not attempt to integrate thru Money for awhile anyway, but I was just wondering if the so called "seamless integration" exists between Money 2006 and Bank of America. Steve |

| If you use it for online stuff, 2006 is significantly improved in that regard for non-Yodlee/MSN stuff. I don't have a Passport on my account, so don't know how it works for Yodlee and/or MSN linking. For online accounts supported directly by the FI, transaction matching is significantly improved, especially, in my experience, investment transactions. I only do basic buy/sell stuff, so can't speak to options or similar transactions. It's slower than 2004, for me. The loss of speed is not consistent in all modules and, after some use in a given session, seems to improve. Also, I get intermittent Server Not Found errors on different pages, most consistently Investments. If I can find a resolution or workaround for that, I may upgrade. The transaction matching improvements may outweigh the speed losses, but I haven't decided, yet. -- Chris Cowles Gainesville, FL "Steve" <sjcohen730[at]aol.com> wrote in message news:1122142788.953705.261360[at]g47g2000cwa.googlegroups.com... - quote - > Thanks for the update Dick. | I did install the trial version on my laptop. (The same laptop I did the M05 work on last year.) It runs like a snail OD-ed on Valium--to the point of being utterly unusable for a full trial using parallel data entry. (Startup to app terminate is over 30 minutes without entering one thing or navigating beyond the home page.) I don't think this is a common problem, but there have been others here reporting it in specific environments including Chris Cowles. I posted some data points several weeks back and have traded some email with Russ P-J on the subject. Beyond that, my initial reaction is that it's little more than M05 that they've taken a little 200 grit sandpaper to. They've explicitly put back dual category list. I had to look a little further before it told me that Most Users Prefer(tm) the dumbed-down stuff. Beyond that, I was hard pressed to find anything that ameliorates my M05 complaints. It's still got more different menu bars and redundant pull outs/down/ups/overs and wasted real estate than any app needs. It still seems chock full of ads and hooks to get you into MSN to start generating some click-through. It still mangles my M04 file categories. (Curiously, an already unmangled M05 version file that had the mangling undone didn't get re-mangled.) It still acts like the only possible way to set up an account is online and Passport is just obviously something your file just has to have or you are some kind of ignorant lowlife. Tools|Settings is still this random walk of different UIs and oddly scattered stuff.I still can't find much of anything improved for my use. Not one of my long-standing wishes was incorporated. (I suppose they could claim the Improved Dual Category List Entry feature, but I don't want to give them too much credit.) A number of people have reported performance improvements. Not on my laptop. Not even close. I have been up to my earbulbs at work, and given my lack of desire to risk the production M04 environment, and given its utter unusability on my laptop, I haven't gone any further with it. For this reason, I've been reluctant to post much on it or update the http://umpmfaq.info/Money2005.htm page. All other things being equal, I would like to try M06 on another machine that is a known quantity for running M04. Unfortunately, I only have one machine that fits that bill and all other things have not been equal lately. Maybe tomorrow I'll take a hack at this? (First I'll have to scare up some disk space. No matter how big a disk you get you WILL fill it sooner or later with more or less useless crap with just enough useful stuff mixed in to make it a real pain to deal with.) | Hi Dick, I picked up Money 2006 premium at Costco earlier this week but have not installed it yet. So far I haven't heard too many horror stories, especially from folks like me who input most data manually and never use passport. I guess you've "played around" with Money 2006 a little, so what's your initial reaction? Thanks, Steve |
