| Having the same problem with 403B account! The category is always set to OTHER instead of getting me break it down to LARGE-CAP, MID-CAP, etc. I have checked everywhere to see where I can change this, but no luck "- Bobb -" wrote: - quote - > Likewise, I'm trying to view my net worth using asset allocation. | Likewise, I'm trying to view my net worth using asset allocation. It only shows Cash as "what's in a savings/checking account " - what's in a BANK account. So if I have $1 million in my mutual fund account and $900,000 of it in a Money Market and $2000 in the bank , the pie chart/report shows $2000 in cash and $1 million in "Investments". I'd like the report/ pie chart to show $902,000 in cash and $100,000 in "investments". That how my money is REALLY allocated. If I LOOK at PORTFOLIO and then GROUP by , I can see the cash, but need to get a freaking calculator to add up my different Money Markets and then add to my " bank account stuff" to arrive at what I have in CASH. If Money (2004 ) SEES the "Money Market Account" as cash, why is it not CASH in an allocation report / chart ? Useless ! | I spent time putting in the detailed percentages of holdings (small / mid / large / cash / bonds / other) into all of my mutual funds, then tried to use the Asset Allocation screen to get a more accurate picture of my holdings. Instead of using the more detailed numbers, it puts each fund into one category as a whole!! Making my time spent useless. Example - fund AAAAA - set to 50% large, 25% snall, 25% bonds, Asset Allocator places it in the category it thinks best - 100% assets in LARGE. Am I a) doing something wrong, or b) misunderstanding how this works (i.e. when people talk about asset allocation for mutual funds, this is the correct way to think about and calculate it)? Thanks - John |
