| You can remove the account from the bank's website -- (I've done this with Amex and Citibank). -- Michael Gordon MVP <johnbusc[at]hotmail.com> wrote in message news:1122070618.183679.143420[at]g43g2000cwa.googlegroups.com... - quote - > Tiffany, > When an account is closed at a bank, it can often stays in their system > for several months. | Tiffany, When an account is closed at a bank, it can often stays in their system for several months. There are a variety of reasons for this, but, the easiest solution I have found is to leave the account open within Money. If you had the account selected as a Favorite Account, deselect that. Eventually, when the bank removes the account from their system, you will get an error that Money cannot update that account online. At that point, you can close it within Money. Remember, its not Money "requesting info" on your closed account. Its your bank trying to send you account data even though you closed the account. Leave it open until they stop sending data. Hope this helps. Regards, JB Tiffany wrote: - quote - > [MS Money 2005] > I have multiple accounts with the same bank and I recently closed one of the > accounts. | I have been asking the same question for a year now. I have multiple cards with American Express and 1 is now closed. Every response I have received involved deleting an account which is not an option. Why would I have to delete an account just to disable online services?? | [MS Money 2005] I have multiple accounts with the same bank and I recently closed one of the accounts. Now whenever I do an online update I get an error saying that the account might be closed (duh, good guess since I checked the Account Closed box). You would think if the Account Closed box was checked that the online banking would stop requesting info but it doesn't. The only instructions that I can find tell me how to stop Online Services for that entire Financial Institution but I only want to stop one account with that institution. Any suggestions? Tiffany |
