| You need to run provlogs while Money is running. -Mark "Cal Learner-- MVP" <via_newsgroup[at]please.tnx> wrote in message news:bd80e1168gkbh76vcola40l7cpfvibbjlk[at]4ax.com... - quote - > In microsoft.public.money, Jake wrote: > > > Having some troulble logging these calls. | Richard, Having some troulble logging these calls. I run provlogs.reg, then open money and update, but then I can't locate the log files. Apparently they are supposed to be in the same directory as the money executable. Here is the exact procedure: Browse CD, double click provlogs.reg, run money, update, look for log files in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Money 2006\MNYCoreFiles\. Nothing there. Any ideas? | Here's the advice I received from Microsoft, which will help diagnose the source of the problem: Run the ProvLogs.reg key from the PSS folder on the Money CD, open Money and capture the logs of the call. The first set of logs will include an ACCTINFORQ and the server returns ACCTINFORS. What he needs to look for is for his checking account, does he see a <BPACCTINFO> aggregate? Have him copy that and send to you, xxxing out the account number. Definitely make sure you xxx the account number and feel free to e-mail to me. -- "Jake" <Jake[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:BDE2FA1E-4477-43EC-B119-21F7F463D70C[at]microsoft.com... - quote - > I suppose I could try to find an old trial version of 2005. | Interesting. It would be interesting to see if it would work on Money 03 through 05, like the MS and Wachovia sites indicate it should. It's a shame there's not an easy way to accomplish that. | Richard, thanks for the reply. I understand the difference - which also happens to be the reason why this is so frustrating. I don't want to have to log into my bank's web-based billpay system. Both Wachovia and Microsoft claim that the bank supports billpay through Money, but they also say that it should automatically work, and it doesn't. Again, I bet this is just an issue of not updating records to show that Wachovia (although it supports this in 2005 and previous) does not support billpay through Money in version 2006. | Bill Pay is somewhat different than paying bills through your bank. I suggest you go to your check register and look at the "Number:" dropdown box. If ePay is one of your options, your bank's bill pay service is enabled through Money. -- "Jake" <Jake[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:EFE376E3-0013-4EB3-8D98-18D66C9E026A[at]microsoft.com... - quote - > First time MS Money user here, just installed 2006 about a week ago. > Everything has gone smoothly until attempting to use Bill Pay. | Oh and by the way, yes, Wachovia's BillPay service supports access from within Money, according to this (and the wachovia website): http://www.microsoft.com/money/banko...pe=BanksOnly#1 I fear that this may be an issue of Wachovia lagging behind a bit and not updating their online services for the Money 2006 release. Problem is, everything I find says I should be able to do this (although nothing refers to 2006 explicitly), and all of the instructions to set it up lead nowhere (probably because its designed to be an automated process - something like if you log into your bank account through money normally, it should be informed that you have billpay from wachovia and then automatically enable it). Unfortunately this is not the case (for me at least). Worst part is, when I called Wachovia tech support, the woman told me "not to worry, they should be able to offer support for Money 2006 later this year." /In the meantime, my 2 years of online update eligibility ticks away...any help would be appreciated. | First time MS Money user here, just installed 2006 about a week ago. Everything has gone smoothly until attempting to use Bill Pay. I bank with Wachovia, who gives me free Bill Pay service. However, after adding my checking account the "Pay Online" button is grayed-out on the Bills tab. I can log into BillPay via Wachovia's website. How do I change the default BillPay provider from MSN BillPay Service to my free Wachovia BillPay Service? I called Wachovia, but they don't yet do tech support for Money 2006 (just 2005 and older). I tried going into Manage Online Services, but it seems to be a dead end. Anybody know how to get this to work? |
