Default Re: Mutual fund association - Fidelity

Some of my downloaded Fidelity accounts report mutual funds named with
description variations and without a stock symbol. Some report it with a
stock symbol but with a different spelling/truncation of the name. I resolve
the matching issue only today by naming the stock in Money to match the
spelling/truncation exactly like the mutual fund downloaded WITHOUT a
symbol.

If it doesn't have a symbol, Money seems to try matching on description.
Since I've matched the stock description to the downloaded one without the
symbol, it matches exactly. (It still asks confirmation.) The downloaded
description that doesn't match the Money description exactly includes a
symbol in the download, so it matches on symbol.

Does this describe your problem?

I think I may have mis-read the problem the first time.

Are you saying that it did not recognize your Dividends, Buys and
Sells of a particular fund as being the same fund that you are
downloading transactions for? That it thinks they are two different
transactions?

Or is it the case that there is an additional account that has
transactions and holdings that duplicates part of the holdings you
manually entered?

Or something else?

Thanks Cal. In the merge window, the main account does not show up for
merging. I am not sure if I had already merged it at one point or not.

If it helps, another fund account is listed and I can merge it with the
Fidelity account.

I am lost here.

In the Account List view, click Merge Duplicate Accounts in the left
column.

Default Mutual fund association - Fidelity

Hello,

I had been tracking a 401K manually until recently, when I imported the
online Fidelity information. I clicked through the association for one of my
funds. Now, whenever it loads the data from the online services it will
never try to re-associate the fund so it will keep my old data and try to
import the the new data so that it is double counted under different names.

Does anyone know how to resolve this?

Thanks
