Go to support.microsoft.com

Now, let's recap where I think you are:

You have entered the proper splits for DGX and can see they are
there.

The price history in that table is split adjusted, as it should be.

When you check the DGX transactions in the Investment History and
the Investment Transactions register, the prices have been properly
split-adjusted and have the "s" appended to the price.

The remaining problem is that for each pre-split transaction in DGX,
when the price got halved by the split, the number of shares did not
did not double. (Therefore the Total for each transaction is half of
what you paid for that transaction?)

Is there anyone at Microsoft that can help me with this problem? Does being
an MSN Premium member offer me online help? This problem is really reeking
havoc with my reports. For the time being, I've manually added a transaction
that doubles the number of shares in the stock but it's a sloppy workaround.

That would be normal, as long as those prices are $53.xx.

The "s" characters are on the prices in the transactions. The
UpdatePrice history is adjusted, but no "s" is printed. So the
prices below that split that is shown are adjusted. Now if those
prices said $107 once the split was entered, that would indicate
something was amiss.

Sometimes a price gets recorded right around split time that is not
correct. If that ever happens, delete that price entry.

All of the transactions have an "s" after the price, including the Sell
transactions. They split a few years ago as well, perhaps 2001, so I don't
know if this "s" refers to the 6/21/05 split or the one from years ago.

Still shows the bloody 2:1 split if I go into Update Prices Manually and the
prices before and after the split are about the same, ex. price didn't drop
by approx 50% in the price history list.

What next?

Let me congratulate you. They have had a couple really good years
lately.

After you get to the UpdatePrices where you started viewing the
splits, click InvestmentActivities (above where it says Details).

That should show a list of all of your activities in DGX. Find the
oldest Buy (normally the oldest transaction shown). Is there no "s"
after the price in the Price column?

Was able to fix the second issue (thank you), none of the 3 possibilities are
solutions to the first problem. When I go into the correct security to see
if there's a split recorded (check in Update Prices Manually screen), I see
the 2:1 split for DGX on the correct date. If I delete the activity and then
update prices automatically, it again shows the split, shows that the share
price has been cut by 50% but doesn't double the number of shares.

Any other ideas?

Thanks,

Miles

Three possibilities come to mind so far:

1. Perhaps some download is somehow overwriting the split you have
entered.

2. You are entering a split for a different, but similar-looking
security. i.e., you have two securities defined that have the same

3. The transactions are dated later than the date entered for the
split.

Select the split in the UpdatePricesManually table and click Delete.

So back to my 2 questions:

1) What to do about the stock for which I have entered a 2:1 split twice but
still sees the same number of shares as before the split

AND

2) How to delete the split I entered on a test stock to see if the split
function was working?

Thanks,

Miles

The split does not show in the Account Register as such. The effects
show on the investment transactions for that security that pre-date
the split. The Quantity and Price is adjusted, and an "s" is shown
just after the Price.

But where in the Account Register does the split show? I entered a 2:1 split
for a company and it accepted the transaction from the portfolio but didn't
double the number of shares. I tried it a second time, same issue. To see if
splits were working, I then tried a 2 for 1 split in another stock and it
worked but I now can't find how to eliminate that test split.

So, in Money 2006 Premium, I have one split that's not taking, even though
I've entered it several times and the program acknowledges the split - and I
have a 2nd stock that has twice as many shares because I can't find where to
delete the split.

Please help.

In the Portfolio right-click AAPL and select PriceHistory. Then in
the left column UpdatePrices-> UpdatePricesManually. Look through the
table and find the entries in the Source column that say "Stock
Split".

Default Stock Splits in Portfolio.....

Hello, question re a stock split with Apple Computer (AAPL):
The stock split a few months ago and I forgot to record the date.
I can't see that the Portfolio program records it either; it just
doubles the # of shares in the system for a 2/1 split.
Is there a place I can go in Portfolio to check on the date of
the split?? Thanks................ <TOM
