I thought versions prior to M2005 had the option as to when they updated.

Try delving around inside settings for a timing option.

Trial user here with a question regarding online updates. In M2004,
online updates occurred as soon as I logged on. In other words, I
start Money, log on and updates to my accounts would proceed. In
M2006, I have to manually initiate the update. I have the settings to
update daily so I guess my question is, if I didn't update manually,
when or how long does it take for Money to update automatically?
