| I just downloaded trial M06 and the account transactions are definitely slower than M04 (US). I have another problem with M06 with the portfolio that I will start a new topic. -Greg "Rajan Giritharan" <r.giritharan[at]gmail.com> wrote in message news:1121435220.398132.76850[at]g14g2000cwa.googlegroups.com... - quote - > Thank you for your information. | Thank you for your information. Very useful. It appears Money 2006 is faster in certain aspects compared to 2004/2005. Still we are waiting to find out from someone if the terrible slow performance of Bills and deposits have been improved to acceptable level in Money 2006. Bob, regarding Sage I agree, Sage is a solution mainly for large businesses however Sage Instant Account is for small businesses. My use of accounting software is for personal accounting and small business activities. Anyway I am not sure if Sage supports the equivalent of 'Bills and Deposits' - any type of scheduled transactions. Besides, as far as I understand Sage does not support built-in shares management. I benefited greatly from Money's cash flow which uses the data from Bills and Deposits. Due to the slow performance I stopped using Bills and Deposits for the purpose of cash flow analysis. As there might be hope for Money 2007 UK version, if the performance of Bills and Deposits have been improved in Money 2006 US I could stay with Money 2004 for the time being. I can use Excel or write my own program for cash flow analysis, though this is going to require some effort and even the use of such method will not be as easy as using the cash flow in Money. I will have to manually enter data from money into Excel etc. I will much appreciate if I someone could tell me their experience with Bills and Deposits in Money 2006 US compared to Money 2004 or 2005. |

| So Bob, can you at least answer the question from Rajan using the US version as an example as there are many of us that would like to know whether Microsoft has done anything to address the speed issue in Bills and Deposits. I too, have been a big user of M2004 US Version. -- Billy "Bob Peel MVP" wrote: - quote - > Sage is a fully functional Business Accounting package, different league and > different price to Money. | Sage is a fully functional Business Accounting package, different league and different price to Money. If you are more than a very simple one-man Company your accountant would be a lot happier with Sage. As to why I can only speculate that sales of the UK versions in recent years have not balanced out against cost of localisation let alone made a profit. Whether there will be a UK M2007 - haven't got a clue at this stage. -- Regards Bob Peel, Microsoft MVP - Money For UK tips & fixes see http://support.microsoft.com/default...d=fh;EN-GB;mny. | I have just checked this news myself. Do you know why? Or should I look somewhere else for a well supported accounting software in the UK such as Sage? I am very depressed since I used to love Money all these years apart from the recent performance issue. |

| Don't get too excited - there isn't going to be a UK version(s) of M2006. -- Regards Bob Peel, Microsoft MVP - Money For UK tips & fixes see http://support.microsoft.com/default...d=fh;EN-GB;mny. | I am a UK customer waiting in the hope Money 2006 UK when release might solve the terrible performance problem I have been experiencing in the 'Bills and Deposits' section of money 2004. When I tried the trial version of Money 2005, it didn't make any difference. Can someone who tried Money 2006 US version with lots of entries in the 'Bills and Deposits' area can tell me if they have noticed any improvement in speed. Currently it takes very long time to enter or modify a bill entry. Even the accounts that have entries recorded from the bills are also slow. I know this has been a long-standing issue since Money 2004. Please, please advice me on the state of money 2006 with this issue. Thanks. Rajan Giritharan |
