| Yes, I restored a recent backup and pulled updates from my bank. I have to check to make sure I didn't miss anything. Obviously I lost my edits and manual entries. -- Fred "Cal Learner-- MVP" wrote: - quote - > In microsoft.public.money, fgrandt wrote: > > I just had the same problem. > That is an amazing coincidence. That is an amazing coincidence. You folks should get a UPS if thiskind of thing happens to you often. - quote - > Is there nothing that can be done to recover the
Perhaps. If you are downloading your transactions, you can probably> lost activity that occured while the My Money file was open before the crash > but following the most recent back-up? re-download from your financial institutions again. If you are entering by hand, then I hope you have a recent backup. - quote - > In other words, are the updates
If you put it that way, no.> journaled so the file can be forward recovered? - quote - > -- > Fred > "Cal Learner-- MVP" wrote: > > In microsoft.public.money, cbrown54 wrote: > > > > I was using MS Money '05 when my computer suddenly shut down / rebooted due > > > to some sort of power surge in my house. | I just had the same problem. Is there nothing that can be done to recover the lost activity that occured while the My Money file was open before the crash but following the most recent back-up? In other words, are the updates journaled so the file can be forward recovered? -- Fred "Cal Learner-- MVP" wrote: - quote - > In microsoft.public.money, cbrown54 wrote: > > I was using MS Money '05 when my computer suddenly shut down / rebooted due > > to some sort of power surge in my house. Don't overwrite your backup file. Make an extra copy of what you> to some sort of power surge in my house. | I was using MS Money '05 when my computer suddenly shut down / rebooted due to some sort of power surge in my house. Regardless, the next time I tried to open my money file (My Money.mny) a window popped up that said "Money has detected that you did not close the file "My Money" before exiting. Money now needs to verify the information in your file. If your file is large, this may take a few minutes. Do you want to do this now?" When I click "YES" the progress bar goes to about 25% then an error message pops up saying "The e-mail address or password is incorrect. Please try again." This is odd because I have been using the same username and password for years! I've seen about 4-5 other postings on here from people with the exact same problem, but none of them ever seem to be resolved. Can anyone please help me? Thanks kindly - Curtis |
