| I could use this feature. I have an LLC I am starting with a business partner and it would allow us to share the books with each other without having to physically meet. I have Money 2004 but only I can see my transactions online with my passport account. I was going to research the ability to share but now it looks like I might need Money 2006. |

| This is EXACTLY what I want to do. Problem is, it doesn't work. -- Thanks, Aaron G. | The whole point of this is to allow my wife read-only access to the account from within her MSN Money account - like I am able to do when away from my computer. If I am misunderstanding the point of account sharing, someone please let me know. -- Thanks, Aaron G. | I'm not sure you understand the purpose of this; it's for a specific situation: you keep your data on the web and access it via your Passport account. You want to allow another person to access that data on the web using their Passport account. I have no idea whether anybody in the real world actually does this. -- Michael Gordon MVP "Aaron Gochee" <agochee[at]msn.com> wrote in message news:umpkFIdhFHA.1052[at]TK2MSFTNGP10.phx.gbl... - quote - > I am new to Money, and so far the 2006 version has impressed me almost to > the point of abandoning Quicken altogether. | I apologize for the lack of any useful details in my earlier post! Here goes... When I try to set up Money to share my account access with my wife's Passport account, the process hangs and eventually fails on the final step, validating the Passport credentials of the other member. Here is the entire process, starting from the time the "Share Account" option is selected: 1. Money prompts the current user for their Passport email address + password 2. Money prompts the current user for their Passport email address + "credentials" (this additional 4-digit "PIN" must be set from the account settings within Passport, separate from Money) 3. Money prompts the current user for the Passport they wish to grant access. Upon providing new user's Passport credentials, the prompt hangs on "Please Wait" for several minutes, and finally gives a non-descript error stating the operation failed and to try again later. Any ideas? -- Thanks, Aaron G. "Dick Watson" <littlegreengecko[at]mind-enufalready-spring.com> wrote in message news:%23l6VSJhhFHA.708[at]TK2MSFTNGP09.phx.gbl... - quote - > What's broken about it? | I am new to Money, and so far the 2006 version has impressed me almost to the point of abandoning Quicken altogether. One of the more convenient features is one will not work for me... the "Share Account" option, which allows for sharing MS Money (and MSN Money) accounts with another Passport user. Has anyone else encountered this, or am I the only one crazy enough to want my wife have access to my accounts?! =) But seriously, I am curious to know if this is only an issue in the trial version, or if this is a feature that is simply not yet fully implemented. Thanks in advance for any help or info! -- Thanks, Aaron G. |
