Default Re: 2006 Small Biz Apply Invoices

Thanks for the work around, which is very nice for the future...I seem to
remember trying to put Payment for Invoice in the category field in previous
versions, but it didn't work. It does work in 2006 SB, which is better than
nothing. Once you have received payments "incorrectly" you are stuck deleting
the downloaded transactions until next month, I suppose. Pretty silly that we
are even discussing this, seeing as how it would be very simple to allow us
to match downloaded deposits to Payments for Invoices. What is the deal
here?![at]#$ At least I am able to match these deposits to other expenses...{a
hint of sarcasim}

Thanks

I've cut-and-paste a suggestion from the test lead on small biz. It doesn't
seem to require a third account. (I haven't even played with the invoices in
this product in years, so I'm a little rusty.) Let me know if this works:

User needs to accept the downloaded deposit transaction, then edit the
deposit tran and select special category Payment for Invoices (this will at
the bottom of the category list in the category dropdown). Tab out of the
category field and it should launch the Payment for invoices wizard where
you can allocate some or all of the deposit amount to invoices after
selecting a customer in the first step of the wizard.

Hopefully someone will know. If it has been fixed it will convince me to
upgrade from 05 to 06.

Is MS Money STILL not getting this right? It was a problem in MSM2004.
The work around provided was to make a 3rd "Cash" account that the
invoice was deposited into, then transferred to the actual bank
account, which would reconcile with downloaded statements.

I haven't yet upgraded from 2004 ('05 sucked the big one) but I won't
if this hasn't been fixed.

Default 2006 Small Biz Apply Invoices

Does anyone know if we can apply downloaded payments from banks to invoices? This is one of my biggest gripes with 2005. I get merchant payments all the time automatically deposited and then I cannot apply them to invoices.

Thanks!
