It does not disable online banking. Premium services refer to those provided
by third parties like Experian, GainsKeeper, or H&R Block.

Some users have discussed Passport problems, which seem to have been
resolved. Perhaps your problems were related to that.

then opened the offending file and clicked Sign In and it worked!

I'm having this exact problem and the workarounds posted on Article ID :
891338 didn't help. I couldn't perform the step of installing a previous
Money version because I don't have one. I got email from a Microsoft Support
person suggesting some of these same steps.

It would be much more helpful if Microsoft enabled an error message that
stated "This feature is only available in the full product", or similar. The
ambiguous error implies that the Passport feature SHOULD work. (because the
sign in is there, afterall)

Thanks for the suggestion, but the problem persists.

I went through the troubleshooting steps on the web page as well. The only
thing I didn't do was install an older version of Money. I'll wait and see
if MS gets this fixed. As noted in my original post, the fact that there's a
new listing for this error message on the Money Highlights & Top Issues
suggests to me that something else is going on.

Let's hope that MS can get this corrected soon. I was planning to go out and
buy Money 2006 today assuming that I was able to try it out successfully
this morning. Those plans are on hold now.

No others in posts below can access bank information fine. I'm getting the
same error message. It's crap because if the trial does disable online
banking and deletes my registered copy of 2005 in the process then it's
taking away the usablity of my program. Lately these two programs 2005 and
now 2006 have really have some quality control issues.

I hope you are mistaken since when I installed the 2006 Trial it deleted the
2005 version. Since they cannot be run side-by-side, the only way to
evaluate 2006 is if online banking is available.

FWIW, when I use the online help feature to visit
http://support.microsoft.com/ph/870, the number one listed error is "Error
Message: Money Is Unable to Verify Your Online Sign In". Unfortunately,
this article is not currently available.

If I had to guess, I'd bet that this is a defect in the program that
Microsoft is scrambling to fix right now.
