| It does not disable online banking. Premium services refer to those provided by third parties like Experian, GainsKeeper, or H&R Block. | Sorry, can I delete this post above? It was NOT working. But then I opened the sample.mny file, ran the update, then opened the offending file and clicked Sign In and it worked! Go figure! Thanks for providing the link to the Article. |

| I'm having this exact problem and the workarounds posted on Article ID : 891338 didn't help. I couldn't perform the step of installing a previous Money version because I don't have one. I got email from a Microsoft Support person suggesting some of these same steps. Cal, could you please explain what you meant by: - quote - > It should be working now.

Previously even if I was unable to authenticate using Passport, I was still able to connect to my banks. When this problem occured today, I couldn't do anything online with Money. Let's hope whatever the problem was this morning doesn't recur. Tony |

| One thing I did not post previously about this problem. If I tell Money 2006 I want to start a brand new file, and select the option "I already have Passport Network credentials", when I supply the e-mail address and password, I receive the following error message: "Your sign-in information could not be verified..." At this same time, I'm logged in to my Passport in Windows Messenger, so I know it's not a problem other than in Money 2006. Tony |

| So what's the verdict? Is this by design? I am also experiencing the same error after d/l'ing the trial. Are any "full" versions experiencing this error? Alternatively, are there any users of the trial version that are ABLE to logon via Passport? It would be much more helpful if Microsoft enabled an error message that stated "This feature is only available in the full product", or similar. The ambiguous error implies that the Passport feature SHOULD work. (because the sign in is there, afterall) "Cal Learner-- MVP" wrote: - quote - > In microsoft.public.money, Tony wrote: > > > FWIW, when I use the online help feature to visit > > http://support.microsoft.com/ph/870, the number one listed error is "Error > > Message: Money Is Unable to Verify Your Online Sign In". The only thing I didn't do was install an older version of Money. I'll wait and see if MS gets this fixed. As noted in my original post, the fact that there's a new listing for this error message on the Money Highlights & Top Issues suggests to me that something else is going on. Let's hope that MS can get this corrected soon. I was planning to go out and buy Money 2006 today assuming that I was able to try it out successfully this morning. Those plans are on hold now. Tony |

| No others in posts below can access bank information fine. I'm getting the same error message. It's crap because if the trial does disable online banking and deletes my registered copy of 2005 in the process then it's taking away the usablity of my program. | It also sayd it does not include "premium" services - which I am assuming includes online banking since it uses your net passport to sign you in. That's not what the trial product itself states. It indicates that the only> purchase > the product. "missing" elements are "the multimedia product tours, audio and video help or autocategoration, MoneyLink feature, or any of the "premium services" of the full retail Money 2006 Deluxe Edition." I hope you are mistaken since when I installed the 2006 Trial it deleted the 2005 version. Since they cannot be run side-by-side, the only way to evaluate 2006 is if online banking is available. FWIW, when I use the online help feature to visit http://support.microsoft.com/ph/870, the number one listed error is "Error Message: Money Is Unable to Verify Your Online Sign In". Unfortunately, this article is not currently available. If I had to guess, I'd bet that this is a defect in the program that Microsoft is scrambling to fix right now. Tony |

| I downloaded the new trial yesterday. Ran it quite a bit that day. Didn't see much of anything in the way of changes, but I didn't try it out extensively. Today, I cannot open the file for online transactions. Every time I try to sign in I receive the error, "Money could not verify your sign-in information. You can use some Money features, but you can't get online updates or perform other online tasks in Money." I've restarted twice and tried to open the file at least 10 times. At this point I'm not impressed with Microsoft's quality control. Oh, and I know it's not a general passport issue, as Windows Messenger logs in without incident. Tony |
