This indicates there might be some corruption in your Quicken file. It
might help if you Super Validate the Quicken file before you try to convert
it to Money (please make sure that you make a backup of our file first).
Use these instructions from Intuit's site:
http://web.intuit.com/support/quicke.../win/6148.html

Can you export from Quicken to QIF? If so, export a large account as a test.
Import to the Money file as a bank statement. That may match to the existing
transactions and, perhaps, bring in the categories, as well.

I've had problems trying to convert from Quicken 2004, both with Money 2005
an 2006. It omits the categories on 1/3 to 1/2 of the entries, and there is
no way I can add them manually, as I have hundreds of entries with no
category listed. I was hoping Money 2006 would correct this problem, but it
hasn't. I uninstalled almost immediately and won't consider buying it or
converting to Money from Quicken. Too bad MS can't get this right, as it is
costing them business. I like many features of the program, so this is a
real deal killer.

Is it 90 days or 60 days? The web site says 90 days. The license text included in the
download (Help-> About-> License) says 60 days. The expiration date in my About box is
blank. If it's only 60 days it doesn't allow as much time to find a good sale price if you
decide to upgrade.

I elected to not uninstall M2004 when installing the M2006 trial. Much to my surprise, file
conversion was quick and painless. In past years, I've often had conversion problems.
Twice over the years I've had to export all my accounts as QIF because the new version
refused to upgrade my old file (2002-> 2004 was one such problematic upgrade). Not
something I ever want to do again, and fortunately didn't have to this time.

My M2004 file is 21 MB. After converting to M2006 it's now 25 MB. I have about 12 years
of data in about 40 accounts, originally coming from some ancient version of Quicken.

I've only used it for about 20 minutes and my initial impression is positive, as long as I
avoid the "essential" options and set everything to "advanced". It seems to be about as
fast as M2004, which was acceptable most of the time. If I customize the home page to
have more than just one chart, it takes a long time to render all the charts, which is how
M2004 acted for me and was my biggest gripe with M2004. My PC is an Athlon 2500+
with 1GB memory. I'm not using any features that require a passport.

I haven't tried any of the Yodlee stuff yet, or really done much other than a few
transactions. I'll put it to the test over the next week before making a decision to upgrade.

FWIW, 06 converted my 05 (and Money 04 through Money 95) file without a
problem.

Default Money 2006 90 Day Trial now available

A 90 day trial of Money 2006 is now available for download (20MB) from the
MS web site:

http://www.microsoft.com/money/default.mspx

After my experience with 2005, I sent it back for a refund and continued to
use 2004. At least this year I'll evaluate Money 2006 Deluxe in a Virtual PC
2004 image and not mess with my original file or date until I know it
converts things correctly.

If anyone else can comment on their existing file conversion experience,
please post.

Thanks,
-Tim
