| It depends on ypur bank. I have one that doesn't support money. jim "DMc-DE" <DMc-DE[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:5282C995-9747-4A30-AFD6-A913FC24020E[at]microsoft.com... I may switch from Quicken to MS Money but need to know if MS Money can directly access transaction data at my bank. Quicken can connect directly to my bank and download transactions, and I can pay bills this way using Quicken. I have not downloaded MS Money yet and won't until I can confirm this feature. Please help me interpret the following information... When I go to the bank list and click on my bank the windows says: Financial Institution Details ------------------------------------------------ XYZ Bank & Trust Main: http://www.xyz.com Additional Information and Services ------------------------------------------------ Statements Direct Services* are the fastest, easiest way to connect with your financial institution and have your statements automatically downloaded into Money. * This service is provided by a third party provider, not your financial instituition. It is only available if you have Microsoft Money 2005. You will need to use Microsoft .NET Passport in order to access your account information. Your financial institution may offer an alternative means of downloading statements and transactions from their web site into Microsoft Money 2004 and earlier. Please contact them for more information. |

| John, thank you for your input. Yes, I think I'lll stick with Quicken. It works fine. I have to upgrade to a newer version and thought before spending the $ I'd give MS Money a chance. | X99, You didn't understand the OP's question. They weren't referring to whether your banks would work within Money!!! Glad to know you're happy though. | I have accounts at 2 banks. I have an account at compass Bank and I can use Epay thru Money and pay bills and download statements directly from Money. I also can download transaction from bank of america directly in money. I love ms money and would not live without it. Especially since bill pay at compass is free. You can't beat it. | D-D, The third party referenced is Yodlee. You would not be able to directly access your data from your bank. It would go through this third party and be subject to the integrity of their system. Also, you could pay bills from your bank account but only if you sign up for MSN Bill Pay. You could not pay bills using your bank's service from within MS Money. You'd have to go to their site. Sounds like you should probably stay with Quicken for now (or change banks?). Hope this helps.
