Default Re: Credit Card Payments/Transfers will not show up as budget categories

See http://umpmfaq.info/faqdb.php?q=53. Basically, one doesn't budget moving
money from one pocket to the other. One budgets the spending--and the
associated interest expense--that puts the credit card balance there in the
first place.

Budget is also all about money you are spending NOW. If the question you are
asking is "will there be enough cash to make the payment for the money I
spent months ago?" then that's best treated as a Cash Flow problem with the
Forecast Cash Flow tool.

In some cases, it may make sense to set the accounts you transfer money to
as "not included in Budget Planner" in their account details. In that case,
the transfers to them will show up in the BP as "Transfers out of Budget
Accounts."

I agree it makes no sense for BP to treat a Loan Payment differently than a
Credit Card Payment--I prefer Transfer, it's more normative--but that's the
way they do it. Were I doing it, I'd do it differently.

Default Credit Card Payments/Transfers will not show up as budget categories

How can I get Credit Card Payments and Transfers to other accounts to
show up as budget categories.

The payments do not show up at all in my budget and I do not see those
categories as available options when configuring budget (Essential and
Advanced).

I see Loan Payments showing up in the Advanced Budget under a
predefined "Debt" category.

TIA- jeff
