| thank you SO MUCH for posting this! i have been on the phone & attempting to email tech support for the last 2 hours, transferred back & forth to 6 different people, NONE of whom could help me or apparently transfer me to the correct person, and your posting solved the problem for me instantly! you've made my week, and it's only monday! thank you thank you thank you! my hero. your posting along with "ceast"'s after yours, which helped me figure out how not to delete the 3 months worth of work i'd done with the trial version, have saved the day. | I had this same problem this is what I did that fixed it: - first uninstall money - clean out the registry for any money entries under HKEY_Current_User/Software/Microsoft/Money and same under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE - copy the file "My Money.mny" under My Documents to another location and delete any money files left under My Documents (this has all your previous money data so you don't want to delete it totally, make a copy in another location). - reinstall money 2005 - Copy "My Money.mny" that you saved back to the My Documents folder and replace it with the version that is there. | I actually managed to talk to a microsoft support person. she said that this was a known issue and gave me a website to download the correct version. They were previously mistakenly directing to the trial version before. Here is the address she gave me. http://www.microsoft.com\money\speci...m_thankyou.htm. Do something similar to, but not the same as> documented through a passport account, the trial version keeps counting down > the time. Finally today the trial time expired and now I do not have access > to the program. What should I do? I do not want to pay again for a program i > paid for only a couple of months ago. Any hints? http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;889930 In the resolution, create a NEW empty file (named perhaps Temp.mny) that you put the referenced Passport onto. Restart the computer. Confirm that Money shows the right version. Then click on your real Money file that is shown on the bottom of the File menu. |

| Although I purchased the full version of Microsoft Money 2005 and I have it documented through a passport account, the trial version keeps counting down the time. Finally today the trial time expired and now I do not have access to the program. What should I do? I do not want to pay again for a program i paid for only a couple of months ago. Any hints? -- J |
