I'm in the same boat as you were, but when I "upgrade" i end up with a page that says: "Thank you for your interest in the Microsoft Money Online Upgrade offer. Unfortunately this offer is no longer available; however, you can still upgrade to the current version of Microsoft Money by ordering it from Microsoft's Product Information Center."

Ok, solved my own problem, after getting some sleep. Here it is for posterities sake: 1. Set your system clock to sometime during your trial period. It can't just be last year - you need to hit that 60 day window from your original trial. 2. Start MS Money, and create a new file - go through all the intro screens until you finally get to the My Money Home Page. 3. Activate / Upgrade MS Money with your activation code. 4. Close MS Money when its all upgraded and reset your clock back to normal. 5. Start MS Money again, and open up your original file. Seems to be working now, but man, all I could think about was the months of work I've put into this Money File going down the tubes. Would be nice if it were a little clearer - or, the trial version would ask you if you had an activation code before it just shut you down.

I had to rebuild my O/S and my machine this weekend, and now cannot use my Money 2004. The only file I have is the original trial version that I downloaded last year. I had then bought the program online, and still have my activation code. However, when I launch MS Money now and sign in on passport, it starts to load my money file, then the program shuts down becaues it is after jan 1 2005 because my install is a trial version. I tried resetting the date, but then passport won't sign me in. How do I put in my activation code so that it knows I'm registered with the Deluxe version? Is there a work around for this? If my only answer is that I'm screwed and need to go buy 2005, then it will be Quicken 2005.... on a CD. thx
