Money05 files only REQUIRE a Passport in the case where you have told it
that an account is at a financial institution that Money05 downloads via
Yodlee. Try telling it that your accounts are at an unlisted FI. Also, if
Yodlee is not involved it seems to suggest there is no way around
Passport--it's there somewhere on that screen in very fine print. Can't tell
you exactly where. I was so underwhelmed with M05 I sent it back See
http://umpmfaq.info/Money2005.htm for details.

Money05 assumes the ONLY reason you tell it what FI an account is at is
because you OBVIOUSLY want online services enabled for the account. If you
want it to know the name of the FI but want nothing to do with the online
download nonsense, I'm not sure how you get around this.

My main problem comes from setting up the file. I create a new file, and it
brings me to the passport page, of which I cannot access. How do I get
around that? And if I have to create the file with Passport, how do I go and
remove Passport from the file later?

Thanks

If Help-> About shows version 14.0.*.1105, you are up to date. If
not, connect to the internet and let the update happen. I would
remove the Passport from my file if I had one.

Then you can use Money without internet access. Several things will
not work that way, including much of Help. However you will be able
to enter transactions, view, print reports, etc without internet
access.

Consider your backup strategy. USB Flash drives are good for backing
up. They are much more reliable than floppies.

Default Money 2005 setup with no internet connection

Is it possible to set up Money 2005 and use it with no internet connection.
I was just on a short detachment and was unable to keep track of my finances
due to the fact that I did not have an internet connection and was unable to
set up Money 2005. I am interested in finding out how to set it up and use
it, due to the fact that I will be deploying soon and will be unable to have
an internet connection. Money 2005 came with my laptop, and I do not have an
older copy of Money lying around.
