| Joe, The bug appears to be fixed in the new Money 2006. The bug, specifically, was this: - Dividend amounts show as negative numbers, though they were entered as positive numbers. - The proceeds of the stock sales are treated as negative numbers though they should be positive. - It may or may not have something to do with sync'ing with MSN Money. All the reporters seem to have that in common. - It is not related to downloading transactions from OFX since it happens in accounts that are not linked to an OFX institution. - The recurs even if you manually fix the transactions. When you quit and restart Money, the numbers are negative again. Anyway, I tried first the trial version then the full version, and it is fixed. Or, I should say the transactions stayed correct after I manually fixed each and every one, then quit and restarted Money. Both the trial version and full versions are available for download. "Premium" is $50 after rebate. My steps: 1) Install Money 2006. 2) Allow it to upgrade my data file to the new version. 3) Did a standard file repair. 4) Did a quick file repair. (Can't hurt, right?) 5) Fixed dividends by typing the positive number over the negative number. 6) Fixed stock sales by deleting the proceeds number, then pressing Enter to force Money to recalculate it from the (quantity x price) - commission. The sales are tricky because they do not appear in red as obvious negative number. Instead, you need to notice that they are reducing rather than increasing your cash balance. - David "Joe Banton" wrote: - quote - > Yes. | The dividends that are reinvested started showing up in the Tax Reports as negative entries. This started around March 31,2005. Does anyone know why this would happen? I am using Money 2005 Premium with windows XP. |
