| Hi Mike, I have had the same problem and had it with Money 2004 too. I got 2006 hoping the problem would be resolved but found it still there. So I went to the on-line chat support for help---although the final resolution was discovered by me, I do not think they would have figured it out. It turns out the debt planner is not to smart. When you set it up make sure that all accounts do not have a next payment due date until the next month. For example -- three accounts- today is July 23rd - when setting up the debt planner all payments must be due Aug 1st at the earliest. Even if one of the accounts still has one due July 31st. If say my Macy's account has a payment due July 31st and the other two accounts are not due till Aug sometime then the debt planner will come up with this crazy one time payment due July 31st for the Macy's account and then resume the plan for August. What a bugger since this has frustrated me for over a year now. Good luck!! | Actually, not incorrect at all. His answer was to my analysis of his original statement, that not filling in the debt limit may contribute to problems in the DRP. He did not say that it was the only source. If you'll read other threads in this forum, you'll find that is true. -- Chris Cowles Gainesville, FL '00 Coleman Mesa/'99 Chevy Astro "Shawn" <Shawn[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:4562A85A-48E5-41AA-9E68-8BC0F91D06E8[at]microsoft.com... - quote - > I hate to burst your bubble, but INCORRECT! | I don't use the DRP but I infer from your statement that, if you haven't even filled in the credit limit, Money will prioritize the payments to that account until paid off because the credit limit is $0. That may explain the behavior seen by some. -- Chris Cowles Gainesville, FL "Richard Bollar" <bollar[at]bollar.org> wrote in message news:OPnuCMCcFHA.2756[at]tk2msftngp13.phx.gbl... - quote - > What version of Money? > Some versions don't like amortized debt such as car and mortgage loans to > be included. | What version of Money? Some versions don't like amortized debt such as car and mortgage loans to be included. Also, it's critical that all accounts are open and under their credit limit. Money will prioritize payments to accounts over the credit limit. -- "Paul" <Paul[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news 525D03D-4E3D-4D37-9BD0-D2971FA49C1C[at]microsoft.com...- quote - > I have the exact same problem, and have reset my planner, removed all bills > and recreated them... even deleted accounts I had in the plan. | I have the exact same problem, and have reset my planner, removed all bills and recreated them... even deleted accounts I had in the plan. I still have a first month's payment of $3000 no matter what I do. "Richard Bollar" wrote: - quote - > I would try resetting the plan. | Hi all, I've tried to set up a debt reduction plan by moving my accounts into the planner and then telling the planner that I don't want to make any extra payments. The DRP then shows a payment schedule with $13,000.00 of extra payments in the first month no matter how far out I stretch the payback period. I recently 'upgraded' from M01 to M05 and am running WinXP pro sp2. Any thoughts? TIA, Mike W. |
