Thanks for the advice but mistakenly I said that I downloaded the app from
the web. I actually purchased the CD and figured out what to do last night.

laptop, too. Is it legal to have the same program on both or do I have to

I have the trial version running on my laptop with the my account info.

From Money Deluxe 2004:

"1. GRANT OF LICENSE ...
.. Applications Software ... The primary user of the COMPUTER on which the
SOFTWARE PRODUCT is installed may make a second copy for his or her
exclusive use on a portable COMPUTER."

Keeping the data in sync will not be easy, assuming you want to use the same
data set on each.
