Thanks! That cleared up the problem. I have no idea what could reset the
"last downloaded" date.

I wonder if the same thing is happening to other folks on the forum who are
experiencing problems with Citi downloads? The "last downloaded" date is easy
to overlook and was the only clue. Suggestion for future Microsoft
enhancement: Program could alert the user when a transaction sets this entry
is set to a future value and enable reset to current date.

I think that could do it, tho I don't know how you could have gotten
into that state.

Have the right account number and password handy.

I would disable Citicard for online access. Then I would set it up
again for online access. It should be simple.

It always a good idea to have a extra backup or copy of the Money
file before doing something unusual.

not grabbing new transactions?

How can I reset the "last downloaded" date? (other accounts are all OK)

Similar problem with Money 2004. Citi card transactions have been rolliing in
just fine for YEARS but they suddenly stopped last month. The last
transaction was 6/13.

After that date, Money connects to Citi and logs in just fine, shows no
errors ("call was successful"), displays the correct new balance in the
"Downloaded" box, but doesn't import any transactions.

All other accounts are updating just fine. What changed in mid-June? Any
clues?

I am having the same problem with Capital One and Providian. I open a case
about 4 months ago. After about a month, I got an email stating that the
problem is with Yoodle to MSN. I was told I would be notified when the
problem was fixed. Since I have purchased Money 2005 this feature only
worked correctly twice. I am guessing it will be fixed in Money 2006.

Well, I do believe that you have solved my problem!

I read the steps in the previous email and actually the only thing that
I changed was to enable "HTTP 1.1 through proxy server connections". I
didn't add any of the Microsoft sites to my list of trusted sites, or
delete my cookies or anything else.

Thanks!

Default Re: Citibank states "automatic online update" never supported

So I contacted Citibank's support again. They continue to state "currently
not supported". Yodlee's customer service is not answering my email (Yodlee
is the server interface between MSMoney and Citibank.

Microsoft's support was quite helpful and they dug into the problem.
However, it did not solve it. MS has finally contacted Yodlee: "At the same
time, we have reported the issue to Yodlee. Microsoft and Yodlee are working
closely with the financial institution and making every effort to resolve the
issue as soon as possible. Your patience and understanding are highly
appreciated.

Although I am unable to provide an exact time frame within which the issue
will be resolved, please be assured that Microsoft and Yodlee are working
together to work out a resolution as soon as possible for the benefit of our
customers.

At this time, I suggest we visit the financial institution's website,
manually download the web statement files to the local hard drive, and then
import them into Money 2005." Well, that sort of kills the idea of really
easy automated banking. I chose Citibank because they supported the automatic
update function in MSMoney.

MS's first suggestion didn't work for me, but maybe it does for you:
MS: "In this situation, I would like to let you know that there are
currently three types of online services provided by various financial
institutions: OFX, Yodlee, and Web Service. Direct Services*: Yodlee, one of
our partners, provides data relay between Money and the financial
institutions. If a fin ancial institution does not provide a special
interface for Microsoft Money, Yodlee can work as a medium to transfer the
user's data from the financial institution to Microsoft Money.

Based on the current research, the issue can be caused by several factors.
For example: some third-party programs are interfering with Money, the
relevant Internet Options are not correctly set up, the online service for
the account in question is not working properly, the synchronization between
M icrosoft Money and MSN Money encounters some problems, the current Money
file is somewhat corrupted, the specific financial institution encounters
some problems, etc. Therefore, it may take us some time to troubleshoot the
issue. Your patience, understanding, and co-operation are highly appreciated .

At this time, I suggest we reset Internet Options, restart the computer in
Clean Boot, test the issue with a new Money file and a new .NET Passport, and
then check the result. Let's perform the following steps to troubleshoot this
issue:

Important: Please back up the current Money file to another folder. Click
File and click Back Up, and then choose the hard disk as the backup
destination. Then if anything unexpected happens, we can restore the backup
file.

Step 1: Reset Internet Options

1. Start Internet Explorer.
2. Click File, click Import and Export, and then follow the instructions to
export the cookies to another folder on the local hard drive.
3. Click Tools and click Internet Options.
4. Switch to the General tab, click "Delete Cookies" and click OK to
confirm; click "Delete Files" and click OK to confirm; click "Clear History"
and click Yes to confirm; click Settings, click "View Files", and then delete
all the files in this folder; click "View Objects" and delete all the objec
ts in this folder. If some objects cannot be deleted, please restart the
computer and try again.
5. Switch to the Security tab, select "Internet" and click "Default Level"
if it is not grayed out; select "Trusted sites" and click "Default Level" if
it is not grayed out; click "Sites", clear the "Require server verification
(https for all sites" option, type "*.msn.com" (without quotation mar
ks) in the edit box and click Add, and repeat the process to add
"*.microsoft.com" and "*.passport.com" to the list, and then click OK.
6. Switch to the Advanced tab, click the Restore Defaults button, check the
"Use HTTP 1.1 through proxy connections" option, and then clear the "Enable
third-party browser extensions" box.
7. Click OK to finish.

Step 2: Clean Boot

Note: A Clean Boot can tell us whether there are any third-party programs
that are interfering with the Money program.

1. Click Start, and then click Run, type "MSConfig.exe" (without quotation
marks) in the Open box, and then click OK.
2. On the Startup tab, click Disable All; on the Services tab, check the box
before "Hide All Microsoft Services", and then click Disable All.
3. Click OK and click Restart when prompted to restart the computer.
4. After the computer is restarted, a dialog box will appear indicating that
some changes have been applied to Windows Configurations. Please mark the
check box and then cancel this dialog box.
5. Please continue with the following steps in Clean Boot mode.

For more information about Windows XP Clean Boot, please refer to the
following Knowledge Base article:
How to perform a Clean Boot in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default...B;EN-US;310353

Step 3: Test with a new Money file and a new .NET Passport

Note: This is only a test. To switch back to the original Money file, please
choose its name from the File menu.

1. Start Money 2005, click File, click New, and then click New File.
2. Select the location to save this new file, type a name for it, and then
click OK.
3. Click Next, choose Accept, choose I want a new Passport and click Next.
4. Register a new .NET Passport according to the instructions on the web
page.
5. Follow the instructions on the screen to create a new Money file.
6. Create a new account same as the problematic account in the original
Money file.
7. Set up the online service for this new account.
8. Click Tools, click Settings, and click "Access your Money data on the
web".

Note: When the program prompts us: "Do you want to use the data already
saved on the MSN Money website to create a new Microsoft Money file?", please
choose "No, I want to continue using the information in the file."

9. Follow the instructions on the screen to enable synchronization.
10. Test with this new Money file and verify whether the problem persists.

Note: To restore the computer to use a Normal Startup, click Normal Startup
on the General tab in the System Configuration Utility, click OK, and then
restart the computer. "
End of MS's email.

While not automatic, the OFX files you download from Citibank
https://web.da-us.citibank.com are reliable.

From the Money web site this service for Citibank checking accounts is
provided by third Party (YODLEE) not citibank direct.

For the credit cards many of them are provided directly and some are
third party.

Following is from http://www.microsoft.com/money/bankonline.aspx# for
the Citibank

Direct Services* are the fastest, easiest way to connect with your
financial institution and have your statements automatically downloaded
into Money.

* This service is provided by a third party provider, not your financial
instituition. It is only available if you have Microsoft Money 2005. You
will need to use Microsoft .NET Passport in order to access your account
information.

Your financial institution may offer an alternative means of downloading
statements and transactions from their web site into Microsoft Money
2004 and earlier. Please contact them for more information.

Hi,

I have exactly the same issue. I bought MM2K5 so I could use it with
my new Citibank account, however, Citibank Online Banking Support also
said that it does not currently support 'Automatic Updates'. I also
tried to download my bank activity from the MSN Money site
(http://money.msn.com) and got the same error.

Tech Support said that the only remedy is to manually download the
transactions (login to the MyCiti.com site, click on "ACCOUNTS" at top,
click on "Download Balances and Activity" on the right side, enter the
date range and choose "OFX -- Active Statement Money".)

According to Citibank, they only support Quicken (right now). To say
this is abysmally stupid is an understatement. The #1 financial
institution in the world doesn't support something that would be
tremendously convenient to their customers who use the #1 financial
software on the market?

I'm tempted to call Microsoft tomorrow to chew them out. Stay tuned, I
just might do that.

RRT

One of my three Citibank accounts is set up for automatic downloads. It has
worked fine since I set it up five months ago. I don't know if it is working
at this moment, because it doesn't have a lot of activity. My last
transaction was 5/25.

Maybe you are calling it by the wrong name. "Automatic Online
Update/Background Banking" might be a Quicken feature to Citibank support,
whereas Money's is "Automatic Online Banking/ Background Update" or some
such. It's like if you go to the drive-through, & ask for a "cheeseburger"
they don't know what you're talking about. It happens.

Just a thought to check out before you try MS support, if it might make
sense for your situation.

If you have not contacted Microsoft support, I suggest you do so. Nobody
