Default Re: Online account setup problem

it is unbelievable that Microsoft has still not fixed this problem. I am
having the exact same issue in Money 2007 Deluxe. Even the trick suggested
by Rob is not working for me. I am not able to add a new account (ING
Direct/HSBC/Dodge and Cox Funds etc) even on MSN Money website. When I use
Yodlee directly, I don't have any problems. So I think it is definitely not
a problem with aggregator but with Microsoft money. Before I found this and
several other posts about this issue, I chatted with Microsoft's support
specialist and it seemed like she had never heard of this problem. I have
been using Quicken for the last several years and was never frustrated to
this extent.

thanks a ton Rob!! this worked!! but after several attempts coz until i had
the old account in Money, it was still unsuccessful. i had to make Money
pretend that this was a different account by disconnecting this from the
bank. then i had to start afresh as though i was adding a brand new account
with this bank. that's when it went through. after this i was able to merge
duplicate accounts & ensure that both i was able to do online updates nor did
i lose the transaction history with this account.

i'm hoping MS Money Support notices this & finds a fix soon. so far i've
found Money to be more intuitive to use than Quicken but this is certainly
one BIG ding agains Money coz i had to burn SEVERAL hours to fix this one
little thing which would have been seamless in Quicken. the strange part is
there is no mention of this issue on the Money KB nor does Money Support have
any clue what to do - when i'd called couple weeks ago, i was told by the
tech support guy that the issue was with my banks services "they must be
doing some online updates or something & you can't connect right now. this
error is not ours & indicates it has something to do at their end".

thanks again, Rob!

I had this same issue. I tried creating a new money file and setting up
the accounts and it worked perfectly so I know its not a communication
issue. The solution was to go to the Tools-> Settings-> Access Your Money
Data on the Web. Turn off this feature. It warns you that it will
delete all your data from the MSN Money website. Click Ok. Then go to
Manage Online Services, and setup the services for the account again.
It will then tell you that you have to enable storing your data on MSN
websites. Go through that procedure. It will then take you back to the
Account List page and you will see a duplicate account. Click on the
link to finish setting up the online services. This time it should work
.. When that's done, make sure you merge the accounts together.

Default Online account setup problem

Whenever I try to set up online access to my Bank of America or E*Trade
Bank accounts in Money '05, I get an error message that reads "Account
setup is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later."

This occurs after the software appears to try to download information
and set up the account.

Money then adds an account to My Accounts and wants me to provide
sign-in information, which sends me back into the the process described
above.

Any ideas on how to fix this?
