Well, I don't know if your bank will allow it, but the solution that> encountered this problem? I used is to get all the accounts to show up in a single download. In my case, the financial institution allowed this by having my wife sign a power of attorney form that permitted me to download her accounts. If your bank doesn't allow that, you could create a couple of additional joint accounts. And those accounts become your wives accounts that she uses. You will be able to see them, and legally use them, but if you agree not to use them, you should be in pretty good shape. Then you simply close your wive's individual accounts. If that isn't a possibility because there's some legal reason that you need to keep seperate accounts, then one of you will have to sacrifice being able to do electronic transfers through money. In which case you could logon to the bank's website and do the electronic transfer there. If you do that, make sure that you manually enter the transfer into Money *BEFORE* you download the transactions. You'll avoid problems like these: http://groups-beta.google.com/group/...7f2ce999?hl=en http://groups-beta.google.com/group/...26?tvc=1&hl=en Good luck. |

| Here's the scenario: I have two accounts Checking & Savings My wife has two accounts Checking & Savings We have two joint accounts Checking & Savings So, we call up our bank to setup online services through Money. We each need to have a separate service account because of the way the bank does things. So I have my Checking & Savings plus the joint accounts linked up to Money through "My Bank" and my wife has all her accounts linked up through "My Bank 2" (Money created that name because "My Bank" was already taken). Her bank online account also tries to download the joint accounts. This is a problem because then we have duplicate accounts. But, Money does not see them as duplicate BECAUSE we are in separate online service accounts. We decide to delete the joint accounts from her downloads since I had mine already reconciled back to its opening balance. Now, she can no longer electronically transfer or receive transfers from the joint accounts through money. We're wondering what would be the best course of action and has anyone else encountered this problem? Should we: Maintain two registeries of the joint account and exclude the second copy from all budgets and reports? Keep hers deleted and deal with the mildly annoying issue of not being able to transfer from Money? Or, some other course of action? Thanks.... |
