| I switched from one broker to another, so I followed the directions to do an account transfer. Then I sold some of the stocks. Now when I do a tax report to see the capital gains- it lists the transfer date and price, not the original date and price for the stocks. It makes the capital gains wrong, and sometimes categorizes it as short term instead of long term. What am I doing wrong?? I've been using the tax reports for multiple years, and switched brokers a few times. I may have reported incorrect capital gains multiple years. I'd like to get it fixed going forward, then go back and find out how much off I was before. Thanks, Becky |
