| I use Lockheed Federal Credit Union, and have been thoroughly happy with them for many years. If you qualify for membership, join up. You won't be sorry. Their on-line services are excellent. Very flexible, and responsive to all of your concerns. - John "Don Awalt" <donawalt[at]removethisgmail.com> wrote in message news:%23TOa$nxSFHA.548[at]tk2msftngp13.phx.gbl... | Citibank does all that you listed and even lets you transfer money between different Citibank accounts (different names, different locations in the US and even selected foreign countries) on the website. Service is good, but it's a bit expensive. Hope this helps and hope you get other opinions on this. ameyer2[at]yahoo.com wrote: - quote - > We have used Etrade Bank and their service is abysmal. > There are some obvious things that just don't work online. > Transferrring money from one account to another is one of > them if they're in two different names. > You have to fight through layers of useless automated > phone recordings to speak to a human, then you get a guy > who tells you you can't do what you've been doing every > month for years. | We have used Etrade Bank and their service is abysmal. There are some obvious things that just don't work online. Transferrring money from one account to another is one of them if they're in two different names. You have to fight through layers of useless automated phone recordings to speak to a human, then you get a guy who tells you you can't do what you've been doing every month for years. Then he puts you on hold for a half hour. When you transfer money from one account to another, the transfer may or may not go through, and may take two days to do even though both accounts are Etrade accounts. Sometimes we've paid bills electronically only to find that the bill wasn't paid, or was paid late. When you call them, you often get their investment staff even though you call the bank number, and you sometimes have to fight through the investment screens online to get to the banking. I want a bank that has a clean, reliable web service, has a competent human being to answer the phone when you call, and actually performs the services they advertise in a timely fashion. Any recommendations? Thanks. Alan |
