There is no rate history in Money but for your Net Worth in Euro to be stated accurately on a current basis it will be neccessary for all relevant exchange rates to be amended to reflect their current market value. Hi all, I'm running Money 2005 and I want to set it up to manage my UK and my French account. I've set it up as ? being the base currency and my French account as the main account. I've added my UK account and set it as using British pound as the currency. When I set up the UK account and set the opening balance, then returned to the account listing, it had decided the value I had entered was in ? and so set a different value. When I then went back to set the opening balance to the equivalent value in euros and again setting the account currency as British pound, it for some reason set the balance for the account correctly but the sub total as the UK balance with a ? sign and then the overall balance was incorrect. It's very bizarre. Does Money not work too well with multiple currencies? Maybe I should try Quicken. Thanks, Alastair Hi Alastair., I work with Money 2001. Sterling is my base currency of choice and I also operate accounts in several other currencies. As I see it you have a File for which you have set your base currency as the Euro. You have opened an account therein (your French account), which is denominated in Euro and the balances shown in the Account List or your Net Worth Report will be stated in Euro. You have then opened another account (your UK account) denominated in Sterling. When this account was opened you chose the currency and set the opening balance. At that point and subsequently the account register will show at the bottom of the page the Euro equivalent at the rate of exchange input by you at that time and that same Euro amount will be what is shown on the Account List and the Net worth Report. I hope this may be of assistance. AJM |

| Hi all, I'm running Money 2005 and I want to set it up to manage my UK and my French account. I've set it up as € being the base currency and my French account as the main account. I've added my UK account and set it as using British pound as the currency. When I set up the UK account and set the opening balance, then returned to the account listing, it had decided the value I had entered was in € and so set a different value. When I then went back to set the opening balance to the equivalent value in euros and again setting the account currency as British pound, it for some reason set the balance for the account correctly but the sub total as the UK balance with a € sign and then the overall balance was incorrect. It's very bizarre. Does Money not work too well with multiple currencies? Maybe I should try Quicken. Thanks, Alastair |
