If not 14.0.*.1105, I would try creating a new XP user with
Administrator privilege. Switch to that user and start Money with a
new blank file. Click Decline when asked about Passport. Let Money
download the updates as that user.

The theory is that if the problem is an IE6 setting, you will get
default settings for the new user. If you succeed this way, it
would accomplish the download, and it would point toward the reason
the other did not work. You can delete the new user later, and
your regular IE6 settings will not have been changed.

I was having problems with Windows XP. I had Money 2005 installed and
running. I saved the original file and the current backup file to disk. I
then removed Windows XP and installed Windows 2000 Professional.

Microsaft's Article ID: 890393 says just what my problem is but doesn't work
to fix it. My files are not read only and I am the administrator of the
computer.
