| Hi Dick - sorry it's not worded better, as i picked up some information I had sent last year which I think was derived from someone else's posting last year. I would guess this is related to categorized items which are still in the budget, but are in closed accounts. However, I can't see how to replicate this to force the error easily (i have some ideas using the place in categories where you can choose those accounts where spending comes from - no chance to test at the moment), it's probably a bit more random than that (ie, Money does it when it feels like it) as usual. The fix to open all accounts and then close them again seems like a good one as it has been reported to work a couple of times now. -- Glyn Simpson, Microsoft MVP - Money http://money.mvps.org Check http://money.mvps.org/faq for tips and fixes for MS Money. | What do you mean by "closed accounts with income/expense categories associated to them"? I ask as I may add this to my UFAQ Issues, but want to clarify what the issue really is. | This can happen (it's not the only reason it can) if you have closed accounts with income/expense categories associated to them. This is something worth checking for. You could see if this is the case by opening any closed accounts and see whether it works again. Once you've opened them all, and if it works again, try closing those accounts again. -- Glyn Simpson, Microsoft MVP - Money http://money.mvps.org Check http://money.mvps.org/faq for tips and fixes for MS Money. | Thank you for the reply. the only real issue i have with that is when i try to get a cash forcast it says i need to have a checking or savings account which makes me think i setup my accounts wrong is this wrong or is there another way to view my forcast. | Accounts created will only show one of a few options as an account type in their account details, irrespective of what you selected originally - Bank, Credit Card, Cash or Other, Asset and Liability are the options on my version [Investment accounts don't have the option]. So, if that's where you're looking, it's nothing to worry about. The mechanism for tracking a savings account and a checking account are the same in Money. -- Glyn Simpson, Microsoft MVP - Money http://money.mvps.org Check http://money.mvps.org/faq for tips and fixes for MS Money.
