| I am having the same problem, which I posted back in March without any resolution. I'm reposting just in case any new info is available. Going back to 2004 is not an option: ---------------------------- I'm using Money 2005 Small Business. I do some day trading (a lot of transactions in one day) and when I try to download transactions from my broker they are always imported into Money in the wrong order. For example, I have an OFX with one day's transactions. The transactions appear in the OFX in date/time order as follows: buy sell short sell cover short buy sell short sell cover short short sell cover short However, when I import this OFX into Money and read the statement, the transactions appear in this order: sell short sell cover short sell short sell cover short short sell cover short buy buy When I try to accept the transactions Money starts adding phantom shares in order to balance everything out. Note that this is not occuring because of FIFO investment tracking. I can reproduce this with an empty money file with a single investment account. Can anyone explain why this happens and if there is any way to import the transactions in the correct order. Thanks.... |

I fixed the problem by chucking out Money 2005 and using Money 2004. |

| I DLed an OFX file containing my trades. When I try to import it into Money 2005 Standard, I have several problems. 1) It wants me to OK every trade. The way this broker's statment is formated, each transaction is also reported. IE if I B 1000 MSFT: bought 100 shares at 24.21, and 100 shares at 24.20. etc etc. Each piece is reported. So for a trade of a 1000 shares I'm pressing NEXT about 5 times for each side. 2) I imports the sells before the buys. This forces Money to add shares. Which is distorting my position. Example: I buy 1000 CSCO today and sell 1000. Money sees S 1000 CSCO. Adds 1000 shares of CSCO. Sells 1000 CSCO. Sees B 1000 CSCO and adds 1000 shares of CSCO. And it thinks I have a position in CSCO when I should be flat. Any idea what I can do to deal with this problem? |
