[M05]Banking-> AccountTools-> Categories&Payees-> Payees-> PreferredPayeeNames
which shows how downloaded names are translated into Payees.
Record the Payee Name Variation(s) shown for Burger King. Delete
the entries that are not necessarily Burger King.

Then click on GoToPayeeRulesManager. Excluded Payee Names
identifies words and phrases that should be ignored from the payee

I would make an extra copy of your file in case you do not like the
result. Then go to Tools-> FindAndReplace and choose the Advanced
Search. After you do the Find portion, it will present a Replace
portion. There you can make changes to the Payee or Category, etc
for selected transactions.

Thereafter change the category as you go, and Money should catch on

After I download an ofx file for my checking account, and import into
Money05 (04 acted the same way) all the new checks list with the same
payee.

Now I realize that Money doesn't know the payee until I enter it, but how
can I get all newly imported checks to show as "unknown payee" or something
like that? Right now they all appear as "Burger King".

On a related note, when I change the payee to, say "Safeway" Money doesn't
seem to know that all my transactions to Safeway are catagorized as
"groceries". Do I have to select a category each and every time? Or can
Money be taught that all checks to the payee Safeway are for the category
groceries?
