Default Re: 401(k) Tracking

A good inclination. 401k manager is, as you've seen, a pretty brute force
approach to the problem.

Default 401(k) Tracking

I'm somewhat new to Money, and have been researching 401(k) tracking. I just
tried the 401k Update feature in Money, and had a question.

After I processed my statement, Money entered "Add Shares" transactions for
each fund, and an "Account Adjustment" transaction in the cash account. I'm
wondering why it doesn't just record the individual transactions as "Buy
Shares," using the cash account as the transfer account? Is there some logic
behind this?

Also, it appears as though the adjustment transaction is an even number, and
I'm assuming it's the number I entered as the statement value (I don't really
remember what I entered when I did that, but I do remember getting a warning
saying they didn't match).

I'm inclined to override this approach and use individual transactions, but
wanted to see what the benefit was first.

Any feedback is appreciated.

Todd
