| Yes. Apparently Microsoft thought Most Users Prefer(tm) it this way. Many didn't and the .1105 mega patch put them back, after a fashion. See http://umpmfaq.info/faaqdb.php?q=161. | I found the answer...however I think that MS really screwed up when they made the change in Money 2005. Here's a link on how to get back to using 2 drop down lists for your transaction entry: http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;889931 For the short version, it tells you to: First ensure you have the most recent updates to version 14.0.0.1105 or higher (I have 14.0.80.1105) Then go into regedit 6. Locate and then click the following registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Money\14.0 7. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value. 8. Type UseDualCatMode, and then press ENTER. 9. Right-click UseDualCatMode, and then click Modify. 10. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK. 11. On the File menu, click Exit to quit Registry Editor. So much for advancement in making life easier....Money 2005 made it harder, IMHO, to enter transactions. | I can't for the life of me find, in Money 2005, where to find the option that when I'm doing a transaction, that when I choose a category, the category line will have 2 down arrows: one for the category and one for the subcategory. I keep getting it all in one shot and it's very cumbersome to have to scroll all the time. Did Money 2005 change this ability? Tracy |
