Default Re: Online Services - Duplicate Transactions

Thanks for the link. The same thing is happening to me with Etrade checking
and all of my investment accounts. The choices MS gives you in the article
are not very good work arounds. They actually all suck. Given this problem
and also how MS money places sells before buys with my ameritrade account,
MS creates a lot of necessary manual entering. Might as well switch back to
the abacus or maybe Quicken if anything else becomes a problem.

I've been using MS money since the inception and it seems they really don't
have Japan's postwar economy "without defect" policy that actually
originated with the US. W.E. Deming would flip out with some of the MS
products that are being sold to the public. MS should try learning from the
automotive industry's mistakes. China is coming up fairly quickly and if our
attitudes don't change about out lifestyle and some of the crap we Americans
manufacture we are going to see the World Bank moving to Beijing fairly
soon.

See http://umpmfaq.info/faqdb.php?q=171 for who/what.

Someone else will have to tell you for sure, but the FI list in Money gives
a hint in its notations (I think they call these something like "via
provider" or "indirect") and if you HAD to supply a Passport and Money
insisted on uploading all of your data to the web, you are using Yodlee.

Who/what is yodlee and how would I know if I'm using them?
I'm banking with Washington Mutual and Bank of America. (ING Direct I have
to manually download from their page)

Default Online Services - Duplicate Transactions

I recently discovered Online Services in Money 2005, and am working to get
two accounts set up for use this way. I recently posted about some other
issues but got those resolved (http://tinyurl.com/6j77x)

Now my problem is that I'm getting duplicate transactions in at least one of
the accounts. It seems that every time I open Money it's downloading
transactions from Washington Mutual--even ones that have already been
downloaded. In some cases, before I realized it was doing this, I didn't
immediately go in and reconcile. So when opened Money again later it
downloaded those same transactions again--and I ended up with duplicates.

Twice now (in 3 days) I've had to print out the transaction list from WaMu's
website and go through deleting things from Money.

Why is it downloading duplicates like this? Why can't it recognize that two
transactions are the same? I'm beginning to think the online service is
more of a hassle than just manually downloading the transactions every day.
At least then if there is duplication, I only have to delete it once.
