| It's just been a horrible ordeal. I lost back to 1997. And all of this right at income tax time. At this moment I am having to start all over and re-enter one by one transactions in another program. What make it all worse though is the fact that they are not facing up to this mess they created. No public apologies whatsoever have I heard or even received from them. Guess they forget its the little people that built that company. "H_Joseph_Hurley" wrote: - quote - > Yeah... | Yeah... I think that is the best route. I cannot believe I have to lose 10 years worth of work in this program. What were they thinking when they released this? I know it's Microsoft... but really... this just goes too far. |

| The one thing I did manage to get help from Microsoft was steps to create a new money file and steps to take to see if it could possibly be Yodlee with the problem. It turned out it was not Yodlee it was the 2005 program. Myself I unloaded the program and turned my issues over to the Better Business Bureau. The important thing at this point, I think, is to not overwrite your> 2005 small business... any help available would be much appreciated. > As of this morning, all my online account connection settings for Yodlee are > gone. Make an extra backup copy, and make sure that the file is older than when you had this problem. Not all banks require Passport+Yodlee for online access. Yours does, apparently. If that is the case, you would probably be better off to contact Microsoft directly to see if they can help with that. The problem may well be temporary, and may be resolved automatically after a period. Some banks where Money accesses the accounts with Yodlee also offer website OFX file download. If that is the case, that offers the alternative for you with what is usually reliable downloads with a little more manual action on your part. Alternatively, you could switch to a bank that does the direct download to Money without the third party involved. Suggested Backup strategy: In Tools-> Options-> Backup [M05: Tools-> Settings-> BackupOptions] I suggest checking x Automatically backup to hard disk on exit x Prompt me before backing up each time* x Make my file small ... Then periodically, perhaps once per month or more, copy your latest backup (named differently from your earlier backups) to a CDR. With XP, this can be a copy and paste operation. Otherwise use the burning software that came with your CDR drive. I strongly suggest use of a USB Flash drive also, in addition to backing up to your hard drive. They typically act like a big floppy. For a more automated way to make multiple backups, see Glyn Simpson's method at http://money.mvps.org/backup.aspx * This has two advantages. You can change the file name occasionally. I like to pick a name something like money 050311. Then it is easy to change the name to have multiple backups. The ..mbf extension is automatic. The other advantage is that you can choose "Don't Back Up, or you change your mind about exiting by simply clicking the X in the upper right of the pop-up box. |

| I cannot believe this was released. I'm having yet another issue with money 2005 small business... any help available would be much appreciated. As of this morning, all my online account connection settings for Yodlee are gone. Furthermore, if I click the link to try and reset these settings, I enter an infinite loop where I can never actually enter the login info for my banks. I tried restoring from a backup, but as soon as I login then close and reopen... the online settings are gone again. Furthermore, the temp accounts it creates cannot even be merged with my existing accounts, presumably because the accounts were merged with the previously working setups. I can deal with Money automatically making my sub-categories main categories... I can deal with the incredible slowness... I can even deal with the poor reconcilliation of invoice transactions... but if I am not able to use the online banking features AT ALL... I seriously think I am going to cry. I have been a loyal MS Money user for over 10 years... but if I can't get this working... I honestly think I will just abandon my money file and go to quicken and start over. Any help you could provide would be very much appreciated. |
