I am curious Don, through exporting and then importing, aren't you loosing
all you other data such as pending bills and deposits, along with your
budget?

Hi Vadim, fortunately, I was working with a girl from North Dakota. I think I
was at the higher tech level. Thanks for your response anyway.

Thanks Adam. It is good to see that the problem can be duplicated. I am
working from a backup and I found on a google website to try to launch the
program on another screen other than the money home page. I did that and
things are working somewhat fine however I am bugged by the fact that this
problem happened in the first place and now can be duplicated.

There is a real reluctance to want to try to explore new features because I
may do something that triggers another stoppage.

I can duplicate your problem by allowing the Debt Reduction Planner to
create recurring transactions and then move the accounts back out of Dept
Reduction Planner. If I try to do anything with those automatically created
except delete them I get the behavior you cite below. After a file repair
all is well again.

Tell support to escalate the issue to the next level. Working with level 1
for anything nontrivial is a waste of time. I imagine, the same person in
Bangalore or in China may be simultaneously working on several
calls/chats/incidents - one being scripted support of Money for Microsoft,
another scripted billing question for Cingular Wireless, yet another
scripted help with your phone line for Verizon.......

I can tell you that while the symptoms were different, I had a corrupt file
that the File repair reported as fine; it was only when I exported and
re-imported all the records for the offending account that the problem
cleared itself up.

The fact it works with the sample file says you have a corrupt file IMHO.

Default Money file not corrupt; but program freezes when launched

Approximately 2 weeks ago, back when Money was working fine for me, I clicked
on one of the sections on my Money Home page pertaining to Auto Transactions.
This section identifies potential auto transactions and when you click on
them, you can create bills, deposits, transfers etc.

I clicked on a transaction and the program froze. The only way was to
terminate the process, I could not even end Money.

I was able to launch Money with the Sample File and repair my existing file.
The log indicated that there was a broken link?! The program worked fine for
me for another two weeks.

On Saturday, the same thing happened. Now, Money does not indicate that the
file needs repaired, I have uninstalled, reinstalled, downloaded the trial
version and I called tech support who worked with me for approximatey 2 hours
and then told me they could not fix the problem and I should see a refund.

Here is the deal - I don't want a refund. I like the product and it was
working. Please help me identify what causes this problem, and then please
help me identify how I can fix this problem.
