| MJ, I am having EXACTLY the same problem you describe, and I have MMDeluxe04. I can't believe I love a program that's so buggy! Even after I deleted the recurring deposit, then used Bills & Deposits to re-enter it, I STILL can't change that one-penny difference, which is in a category unrelated to the one for which I get the "will cause the share balance to become negative" warning. Wah. Anybody know whether the latest version fixes this weirdness? | You are not alone in seeing utterly spurious (like on a Buy!) negative share balance warnings occasionally. Having said that, I wish I could say why or what to do about it. I just delete the problem transaction and re-enter. Very frustrating. This has probably been "fixed" with the M05 Essential * stuff that Most Users Prefer(tm). | In my recurring checking acct deposit, I have splits that go toward buying funds for a college savings plan. In the plan accounts, I do not associate a 'cash account'. About half the time, what I have set up as recurring, some of the split amounts are different by a penny or so, so I need to edit them. After doing so, I get a warning that: "The changes you are making will cause the share balance for 'Putnam...' to become negative at some point. Please arrange your transactions to avoid this." I cannot then close the transaction with the changes. It is very frustrating. I have not found an answer anywhere in the KB yet. I have tried rounding and not rounding either the share amount or share price. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. |
