| For me I am back to Quicken after using MS for many years. I dumped Norton for the same reason this year. Junk!!! "Cindy Conover" wrote: - quote - > Steve, > I use Money 05. | Steve, I use Money 05. I have a brain and do use it. I manually input all of my data. I do update just incase I forget something. It is a nice feature when it works and that does not mean that I am incapable of thinking on my own. |

| Phil, Let's face it. $25 is not a major price for what you get with Money. To get all the bells and whistles that Money promises I would have expected to pay $200 or more. Money is not going to fix all the various problems identified. The reason is that each of us perform different actions with Money attempting to do the correct entry. We screw it up! Some of the canned answers Money spits out only confuse the situation more. You really need to have some financial background to work with it. The ONLY competition is Quicken and I wouldn't switch after almost 10 years working with Money. I have updated yearly including to Money 2005. Their online update in October/November at least made the product work for me. I feel real sorry for anyone who is trying to use Money 2005 with Yodlee. That product is best used online with your investment broker website. Money has alot more to offer than just running asset totals. Steve |

| Steve, IMHO, the fact that people spend $$ on software and expect it to work should not amaze you. I have been an avid money user since 2002 and have upgraded every year while telling everyone I know how great the product is. However, if my first experience with MS Money had been with 2005, I would have never used the program beyond the first few weeks. As you say, all of our financial data is available from our various institutions. However, one of the reasons I purchased MS Money was for live updates. The issue isn't that I can't download my data -- or enter it manually (what I have to do in most cases). The issue is that I spent good money on a commercial software product that has *major* bugs with no fixes in site. And... make no mistake, the Yodlee fiasco is not the only serious issue with the 2005 product. There are other personal finance management solutions out there. If the Money team doesn't get their act together soon, I will take your suggestion and "use my brain" to find another solution that works as advertised. | It constantly amazes me that people spend $25 for this product expecting it to do everything automatically for them. When it doesn't work they just quit. Apparently they just don't want to use their own brain and enter the data into Money themselves so that they can get the only real benefit the program offers. It is a personal finance mangement program. It helps you manage your finances. You have the ability to make it work for you if you will only spend 1/2 the time you now spend dealing with yodlee, msn, microsoft, etc and spend the time just entering your data yourself. It is all available from your bank or credit card company or even from your investment companies. Steve |

| I have had the same problems with Washington Mutual. I have spent many hours getting it going again, lasts about two weeks and then it will stop updating. I have given up and trying to get my accounts straightened out. I still need to get MSN working without using the auto upadate. I give up, too many people and phone numbers that point the finger at the other MSN or Microsoft, or MSN bill pay or Yoodle. I hope it works someday. I will not try again untill something is fixed. | I am having problems with Capital One and Providian. The same length of time and the same problem. I open a case with Microsoft and then say that the problem is with Yoodle and they are trying to fix it. Opening a case would be your best bet. It didn't even take a day for them to answer me. | Sorry, I should have been more specific. The bank is California Coast Credit Union. I have not been able to update it for over 2 weeks. The last update was Feb 15 or so. When I click to have update occurs, the dialog box would come up saying it is trying to update. After a few minutes I would get a dialog box saying update did not occur because an error has occurred with the finanical institition. I have no idea what the error is and what Money did and did not do. Another post describing a similar problem suggested to clear the cache, cookies and delete all stored files. I did that but nothing seemed to help. Thanks. |
