I think that would differ from institution to institution. I
remember one FI would not download OFX data to a new version of
Money because it had not been set to look for that version yet.

Default Off Topic: Financial Institutions OFX Servers

I thought this might be an appropriate place to throw out this question even
though it's not directly related to MS Money since I've found some of the
long time posters here to be very knowledgeable about electronic
transactions with financial institutions. I am interested in writing
software that acts as an OFX client to financial institutions, much like
Money and Quicken. After reading the OFX specification it appears any
software that conforms to the specification should be able to talk to an
institution's public OFX servers. Is that a correct assumption, or are the
servers configured to reject requests unless they are coming from Money,
Quicken, etc. If so OFX would not appear to be an "open" standard. Thank you
