I'm confused as to why you can't change it. Right next to the> already-reconciled transactions? > This keeps happening, and the only option offered with the match is to > "accept" it. I would be happy if I could change it, but that's not happening. "Accept" button there should be a "change" button that would allow you to change which transaction is matched, as well as tell it not to match the transaction to any transaction at all. Well, that's the way it works in Money 2004. I don't know about '05. |

| The problem you describe should not be happening. In my experience, Money generally won't link a downloaded transaction to one that was already reconciled, unless it matches on check number. Perhaps more information is necessary before someone can properly answer your question. Provide some example descriptions of the transactions, including item numbers and dates. Are you downloading by direct connection to the bank, or with by clicking on a link at your bank's web site that downloads a file, which Money imports? Tools-> Options-> OnlineServices-> MatchTransactionsWithA___DayRange to 1 day, and see if that helps. On that same page, try un-checking other items. |

| There is the fairly radical solution of "don't download". Many posters believe that sorting out the mess caused by downloading just isn't worth it and takes much more time than the alternative. There is no God given decree that says just because something is available you have to use it. I, amongst others, manually enter into Money all my current account transactions and at the end of the month eyeball the printed statement from my Bank against Money. Takes a few minutes and I don't have the sort of hassles you are going though. If you have many accounts then downloads may be the way for you but a simple scenario of a checking account and a savings account, to me anyway, says manual is the best. | Is there some way to stop Money from matching downloaded transactions with already-reconciled transactions? This keeps happening, and the only option offered with the match is to "accept" it. I would be happy if I could change it, but that's not happening. |
