| Thank you for taking the time to respond. The first 2 are charges and i entered them both in the charge column. The total as you correctly pointed out should have been (1225.75), but it came up exactly as I typed it below. The additional line item of a $100 payment, didn't yield an amount that reflected a $100 entry one way or the other, but a $110 entry. I switched columns, rebooted and still had the same problem. I've worked with Money for many years, and this is the first time I've ever had these difficulties. I'm also having problems opening my old Money files in 2005. I went through the conversion process, repair (standard and quick) and the file is empty. I worked in it through October and the data is all there, but not in 2005. From scrolling the boards, I see there are various problems with the software in general, but these seem like basic functions that would be more likely to work than some of the more advanced stuff. Again, any advice would be great. | I think your second line is wrong - you appear to have added this as a credit. the first two, if they are charges, come to (1225.75) . Adding the credit on line 3 will give you (1125.75), which is what you want. Check that the transactions are in the correct columns on the CC account register. -- Glyn Simpson, Microsoft MVP - Money http://money.mvps.org Check http://support.microsoft.com/default...d=fh;EN-GB;mny or http://money.mvps.org/faq for UK tips and fixes for MS Money. | I bought and installed Money 2005 Standard, then bought and downloaded the upgrade to Deluxe. I started working with one of my credit cards and the transactions are not adding or subtracting correctly. I put in an opening balance, and when I put a transaction in, the totals are not correct. This is what happens: Opening Balance: $0 First entry: Adjustment/Account Balance Charge $1,220.75 Balance (1220.75) Second entry: AA Charge $5.00 Balance 1,215.75 Third entry: Payment Credit $100.00 Balance 1,325.75 The correct balance should be ($1,115.75) The transactions are not adding correctly or reflecting the true amount. I downloaded the statements from the bank and it was fine. When I went to add in previous ones, this started happening. I can't get it to work properly. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. |
