| I've had the exact same problem as Keith and Feisty. Super Salvage Utility says the file is password protected, but doesn't recognize the password. Tried all the various suggestions, and was running most current version of program. Am about to try Vadim's idea of exporting to QIF -- and sending file to MS to fix. This product is horrendous. I wonder, did they figure out to make at least their msn links working at that time - or even that was above and beyond. I think it would be very good if every user with these problems opened support incident with Microsoft, and followed up to the corporate office when their "far east" support offers not much but "we apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused, but unfortunately...". Hopefully, if the quality of their software bites them financially, they at some point might make a step or two in the right direction. Vadim |

I understand that most people wouldn't even think about such a step, but I in fact did exactly that once, and, according to MS, it has resulted in some improvements of the salvage utility, which is supposed to repair _any_ damage. | I switched from Quicken to Money 2005 about 6 weeks and am quite pleased with it. I'd used Quicken for about 7 years and find Money to be a better product, at least for what I do. And, it's specifically the downloads from my bank, investment accounts and credit cards that works much better than Quicken. As far as stability, Money has worked well so far. Each new update of Quicken was so bug-laden that I wanted to scream! | I made the horrific mistake of trying out Money 2005 - I am using the demo version and stood have stayed with 2004. Money crashes almost 90% of the time I load it.... I can not clear transactions downloaded from my bank, nor can I delete them and attempt to recreate them. I have used the internal file repair utility and it is of no value. I tried super salvage but it does not even function - asks for a password but does not use the file password. Anyone know of anyway to convert the money file back to 2004 or a stable product like Quicken? I have used money for over 5 years - this is the worse release ever. |
