| I am using Money 2005 standard, so there could be some difference in the reports. My Porfolio Value by Investment Account report does not show any transactions. It shows the total number of shares for each investment in each account for a given date. It also shows the total unrealized gain/loss in each account for each investment among other things. You only see the transactions if you right click on the investment and select View Transactions. However, it will not give you the total number of shares in all accounts for a particular investment. You could customize this report to show just the one investment. You could then get the total unrealized gain/loss for that investment, but the number of shares column does not get totalled. | Not what I'm after. Imagine a report or view looking like this: Oracle Apple Microsoft 100 Shares Account 1 50 Shares Account 2 50 Shares That's not what I see. Money shows all transactions for the position but doesn't subtotal them. So, if I bought 10 shares in Account 1, then sold 5, then bought 20 and sold 10, bought 30, sold 20....I'd have to total them all or go directly to that account to see the subtotal. I want to see my total position in a stock and each account's share of that position. | Unless I am misunderstanding your question, the Value by Investment Account report should do exactly what you want. Right click on the investment in a particular account and select View Transactions, and it will show you only the transactions from that account. | In MS Money 2005 Premium, when I look at my Portfolio, Select View = Holdings, Group By = Position, each equity position appears. If I click on the plus sign, I see the buys and sells for that position. If I have have several buys and sells in multiple accounts for this one position, this expanded view has little value. Is there a view that shows the position subtotaled by Account? Ex. if I have 50 shares of MSFT in Account A and 50 shares of MSFT in Account B, the view above shows Microsoft 100 shares and if I press the + sign to the left of Microsoft, it shows the transactions that lead to 50 shares in each account. I would prefer to see a subtotal for each account. Even better would be a subtotal by each account and then another plus sign that shows me each open transaction so I can see unrealized gains and losses for each position for tax purposes. Thanks, Miles |
