| Here's the resolution the worked for me: The evil eyed villan is the INVESTMENT PERFORMANCE module on the home page. Created a new file by going through the "File" option on the top tool bar on the Money log-on screen. This enables the creation of a new money file. Then using tools> Settings> Program settings I reset the home page to the "Accounts list". This now affects all Money files (global). close this file now. Next open Money again. on the log on screen Choose File> and browse to the original offending file and select it and click open. MS Money will now open the corrupted file but it will open with the accounts list as the home page!. Now click on Tools> Settings> Home page display options. You will see all the rectangular modules which comprise your home page.Select Investment peformance and REMOVE IT from being displayed and save. Ms money now should open with its regular home page without crashing or freezing. |

| I created a new file by going under file - new - new file. I spent over an hour with support to try and solve this. We ran the salvage utility multiple times, all to no avail. In the end, I had to restore from floppies. Support's suggestion was to export from my file, create a new file, and import the data back in. I started to do this but it was tedious and I stopped, as you have to export/import one account at a time. Right now, Money is running again. If it crashes again, I will probably resort to exporting/importing everything. One thing I noticed as I was importing was that I had two accounts that could not be imported - looks like something is corrupt there. I still think NetBenefits might be the culprit. | I have the same problem here. HELP> I am using Money 2005 Deluxe. Have just been downloading statements from my investments (including Fidelity's NetBenefits) The program suddenly shut itself down-no warning. Tried opening the same file from its location...opened but was frozen. I am currently running virus scan and MS spyware scans to try to locate the problem. I also could not find sample.mny. How do you create a new empty money file? "David Ratonyi" wrote: - quote - > Try removing the Investment Performance Module from your home page. | Running windows 2000 and the program has been crashing/freezing for a month now. I think it started after I added my wife's new 401k at Fidelity (netbenefits). I've restored multiple times, deleted the fidelity account, re-created it ad nauseum. Sometimes I get an error message, sometimes it opens and closes a minute later, and sometimes I get an error message. I'm thoroughly disgusted with this product. Anyone have something similar? |
