| John - I am having the exact same problem with my Waterhouse account. I also have OEM version of Money 2004. It keeps telling me to change my password. I call Waterhouse. they gave me a new ID AND password that they state is required to download into Money. So I have tried everything: My original Waterhouse account number and password - I get the error. Then I entered the ID and password that they gave me to use - I still get the error. I'm getting frustrated. I see Colleen's comments below, but I have no Money 2005 involved and am still having the problems. Have you found a solution? If so, please share it. To access TD Waterhouse, you do not need to have a Passport on your> account mgmt). When I go to Setup Online services for TD Waterhouse and > enter my login information, I immediately get a prompt requesting me to > change my password which never seems to work. > Does anyone else have this problem, and is there a way around it? > FYI - I have the OEM version of Money 2004. account. As to why the required password change does not work for you, I don't know. It is possible there is some kind of setting giving you a problem. In IE6 I would do Tools-> Options-> Security-> LocalIntranet-> DefaultLevel Also in IE6, Tools-> InternetOptions-> Security add https://*.tdwaterhouse.com to your Trusted Sites list |

| John....I also have an OEM version of Money 2004, it came with a new pc. I also use the Money Central Portfolio which is a web based Money 2005 Portfolio. I wanted to import my data from the web or my backup CD. I had thought that my issues with using OEM 2004 were password (I kept getting error messages relating to my password.) related but were instead because my web based files are Money 2005 and only after spending hours researching the MS KB saw that by design, the files are not backwards compatable. So, as I only intended to use the OEM Money 2004 to work offline........my inability to use it is not a huge loss. You did not go into detail about whatever else you tried before deciding that your issues were only password related but my research of the MS Knowledge Base offerd several other things that might be the problem including installation issues. http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;317638 There are more articles there too but are not as organized as other Microsoft products. I came across my solution by accident! My pc manufactor also offered me the same solution that you tried but did not know that the different versions of Money were not compatable. If you have any tech support with your pc, perhaps they can be a resource........they could not be as bad as mine.....I spent days trying to figure out a problem which to many would have been obvious......but not to me! Good Luck, Colleen "John" wrote: - quote - > I called TD Waterhouse to get my login for MS Money (separate from my online > account mgmt). | I called TD Waterhouse to get my login for MS Money (separate from my online account mgmt). When I go to Setup Online services for TD Waterhouse and enter my login information, I immediately get a prompt requesting me to change my password which never seems to work. Does anyone else have this problem, and is there a way around it? FYI - I have the OEM version of Money 2004. Thanks, John |
