In M04, you go to Categories & Payees, Class1, and there is a click target
off to the left for Delete classification. I think it's similar in M05.

Thanks for the reply, Cal. Yes, I meant Quicken 2005. Since Money
doesn't know how to import directly, I went to Quicken and did an
export, file by file, then went into Money and imported all at once
(ignoring the "the QIF has data not recognized" that came up thousands
of times). It worked. ")

Imported from Quicken 2005? Perhaps you meant you converted from
Quicken 2004.

To delete a classification called Class1 and its references in Money
2005, go to Banking-> AccountTools-> -> Categories&Payees. Select
Class1 in the left column, and click DeleteClassification.

Default Clearing a class

I imported some files from Quicken 2005. They had classifications. I
changed the structure so they are no longer needed. Was able to remove
the items in the class, but "Class1" still shows through the
application. How do I remove that, please?
